It's Thursday the 28th of February! That suggests nothing more and nothing less than change the month and therefore always expected our monthly interview, this month we have a collaboration of luxury, we set aside this time to designers and models and focus on another fundamental part the fashion world: photography, this time of the Spanish photographer's hand, as he says, "lost in Italy", Diego Diaz Marin.
¡Es jueves día 28 de Febrero! Eso sugiere nada más y nada menos que cambio de mes y por lo tanto nuestra siempre esperada entrevista mensual ; para este mes contamos con una colaboración de lujo , dejamos a un lado en esta ocasión a diseñadores y modelos y nos centramos en otra parte fundamental dentro del mundo de la moda : la fotografía , en esta ocasión de la mano del fotógrafo español , como el dice, "perdido en Italia", Diego Díaz Marín.
I discovered the work of Diego with platform "Instagram" about a month ago and from the beginning I loved his style when capturing images that I sort of passionate about fashion, and do not hesitate to contact him to learn more about of his projects and propose this interview. I just love his work and wanted to share with you all and only knew that you knew more about the artist.
Descubrí el trabajo de Diego gracias a la plataforma "Instagram" hace cosa de un mes y desde un primer momento me encantó su estilo a la hora de capturar imágenes que clasifico de apasionantes sobre moda , y no dudé en contactar con él para saber más acerca de sus proyectos y proponerle realizar esta entrevista. Simplemente adoro su trabajo y quería compartirlo con todos vosotros y que conocierais y supierais algo más acerca del artista.
Passionate about photography and clear ideas from boy, Diego at 25 years old has an enviable career with projects such as campaigns for Just Cavalli and Schield Collection and sessions for magazines such as Vogue or Elle. Without further ado, we go straight to the interview, hope you like it! :
Apasionado de la fotografía y con las ideas bien claras desde niño , Diego a sus 25 años cuenta con una trayectoria profesional envidiable con proyectos como campañas para Just Cavalli o Schield Collection y sesiones para revistas de la talla de Vogue o Elle. * Where do come your vocation and passion for photography?
*¿De dónde viene tu vocación y pasión por la fotografía?
My passion for photography comes from my father, who was also very fond ...
Ever since I was 8 I was playing with a camera disposable, and taking pictures of my sister and my cousin.
Mi pasión por la fotografía viene gracias a mi padre, que tambien era muy aficionado…
Ya desde que yo tenia 8 años jugaba con una cámara de fotos de usar y tirar, y haciendo fotos a mi hermana y mi prima.
*Why and when did you decide to move to Italy?
*¿Por qué y cuándo decidiste trasladarte a Italia?
I moved to Italy thanks to the Erasmus scholarship for studying architecture, but once here Schield Collection designer discovered me to take pictures of their brand, and that gave me the strength to believe in myself as a photographer and stay in Italy try your luck.
Me traslade a Italia gracias a la beca Erasmus porque estudiaba arquitectura, pero una vez aquí el diseñador de Schield Collection me descubrio para hacer las fotos de su marca, y eso me dio la fuerza para creer en mi mismo como fotografo y quedarme en Italia a probar suerte.
*Do you plan to return to settle in Spain?
*¿Tienes planteado volverte a establecer en España?
I always carry a super-Spain within the heart, but for now I have no plan to return, for I have found my corner here in Florence, where I work I have friends, my family ....
But you never know .... Spain pulls much.
Siempre llevo a España super dentro en el corazón pero por ahora no tengo pensado volver, porque he encontrado mi rincón aquí en Florencia, donde trabajo tengo amigos, mi pareja….
Pero no se sabe nunca….España tira mucho.
*What are your sources of inspiration?
*¿Cuáles son tus fuentes de inspiración?
For me the biggest inspiration source is my town Torre del Mar in Malaga
Its light, its color, its people, is everything I look for in a photo.
When I am lost artistically, I go there, it's like art recharged me!
Para mi la fuente de inspiración más grande es mi pueblo Torre del Mar en Málaga,
Su luz, su color, su gente, es todo lo que yo busco en una foto.
Cuando me encuentro perdido artísticamente ,voy allí, es como recargarme de arte!
*Which has been your best work to date as a photographer?
*¿Cuál ha sido tu mejor trabajo como fotógrafo hasta la fecha?
Do not know, are all my children! Jejej .... Everyone has something special to me.
No lo se, son todos hijos mios! Jejej…. Cada uno tiene algo de especial para mi.
*Who are your icons in the fashion world?
*¿Quiénes son tus iconos dentro del mundo de la moda?
I haven´t many icons, but I admire to Carine Roitfield.
No tengo muchos iconos, pero admiro muchísimo a Carine Roitfield.
* How would you relate the art of photography with fashion?
*¿Cómo relacionarías el arte de la fotografía con la moda?
For me they are one thing .... the way I see the picture is meaningless without fashion ... or fashion without photography.
Para mi son una sola cosa….mi forma de ver la fotografía no tiene sentido sin la moda…ni la moda sin la fotografía.
*Who models would you like to photograph?

* What are your plans in the short and long term?

I have a short-term advertising for a brand super important, but still can not say anything ....
And long term I would like to get into the world of video.

Y a largo plazo me gustaría meterme en el mundo del vídeo.
*Who artists or designers woult you like to work with?

I would love to work for magazines such as Harpers Bazaar and brands like Lanvin.
Me encantaría trabajar para revistas como Harpers Bazaar y marcas como Lanvin.
*What does sets your style in photography refers to other photographers?
*¿Qué diferencia a tu estilo fotográfico del de otros fotógrafos?
Do not know, because I've learned to just shoot and I have no sheet ... just let myself go by instinct.
No lo se, porque yo he aprendido a fotografiar solo y no tengo ninguna técnica simplemente me dejo llevar por el instinto.
*What does bring photography to you?

For me, photography has always been very important, as a means of escape or a way to reflect my thoughts.
Para mi la fotografía ha sido siempre muy importante, como una vía de fuga o un modo de reflejar mis pensamientos.
*Who is your photographer example to follow?
*¿Quién es tu ejemplo de fotógrafo a seguir?
I really like Guy Bourdin and Helmut Newton.

*What did you want to be when you were a kid?
*¿Qué querías ser cuando eras un niño?
Fashion photographer, but thought it was an impossible thing.
Fotógrafo de moda, pero pensaba que era una cosa imposible.
*What does a country like Italy bring to you when working?
*¿Qué te aporta un país como Italia a la hora de trabajar?
Everything, because it is the center of fashion in the world along with Paris.
Todo, porque es el centro de la moda en el mundo junto con Paris.
*What projects are you involved in right now?
*¿En qué proyectos estás involucrado en estos momentos?
For now I am very keen to Schield Collection, where the designer Roberto Ferlito, we are creative and romantic partner, covering together from design to photography ....
And other projects that by now could not explain much until they come to light.
Por ahora estoy muy volcado en Schield Collection, donde con el diseñador Roberto Ferlito, somos pareja sentimental y creativa, abarcando juntos desde el diseño a la fotografía….
Y otros proyectos que por ahora no puedo explicar mucho hasta que no salgan a la luz.
*Where else in the world would you like to work and why?
*¿En qué otra parte del mundo te gustaría trabajar y por qué?
In Paris, because as I said before is the center of fashion.

*What is your personal style dressing?
*¿Cuál es tu estilo personal vistiendo?
Jjajaja .... Do not know to explain, but normally I´m always dressed the same.
With American Appareal jersey, pants rolled up and colored socks.
Jjajaja…. No te lo se explicar, pero normalmente voy siempre vestido igual.
Con una camiseta de American Appareal, unos pantalones remangados y calcetines de colores.
*What is the best of your profession?
*¿Qué es lo mejor de tu profesión?
I love photographing extravagant situations supernormal places, nature, sensuality and irony.
Me encanta fotografiar situaciones extravagantes en lugares super normales, la naturaleza, la sensualidad y la ironía.
*If were not a photographer, what would you be doing?
*Si no fueras fotógrafo , ¿a qué te dedicarías?
I have no idea .... Would be unemployed.
No tengo ni idea…. Estaría en el paro.
*Where do you see yourself in a few years?
*¿Dónde te ves dentro de unos años?
No idea, I prefer not to think
