MBFWM Day 1: Victorio & Lucchino

I still could not believe it , barely took one day hanging around the augers of Cibelespacio , epicenter of  MBFW Madrid, and I was about to attend for second time to one of the most unique and significant parades for me of the whole Madrid fashion week, I was a few minutes from the staging of the last collection designed by Victorio & Lucchino , probably one of the first firms that I have recorded and as such , since childhood.

Todavía no me lo creía, a penas llevaba un día merodeando por los sinfines del Cibelespacio, epicentro de la MBFW Madrid, y ya estaba apunto de asistir por segunda vez a uno de los desfiles más singulares y significativos para mí de toda la semana de la moda de Madrid, estaba a escasos minutos de la puesta en escena de la última colección diseñada por Victorio & Lucchino, probablemente una de las primeras firmas de la que tengo constancia  y conocimiento como tal, desde niño.

How could it be otherwise with a parade of this size , the designers based in Seville , presented to all viewers of their show with some brilliant staging and collection, they put on show the romantic side of the firm, without forget his trademark folk -Flemish style , which could be perceived in a more camouflaged and discreet version this time .

Como no podría ser de otra manera con un desfile de tal envergadura, los diseñadores afincados en Sevilla , obsequiaron a todos los espectadores de su show con unas brillantes puesta en escena y colección, que pusieron en manifiesto el lado más romántico de la firma, sin olvidar su característico estilo folclórico-flamenco, el cual pudo ser percibido de una forma más camuflada y discreta en esta ocasión. 

For next season , Victorio & Lucchino give us a glimpse that femininity and sensuality of the woman has no limits , and secrets , for them , their collection, delicate and refined to the core, transmitting its idealized to an authentic and natural romantic woman, whose garments are developed in the environment at the same time her gait , creating a symbiosis , or rather , an atmosphere of angelic harmony .

Para la próxima temporada, Victorio &Lucchino nos dejan entrever que la feminidad y sensualidad de la mujer no tiene límites, ni tampoco secretos, para ellos; su colección, delicada y refinada hasta la médula, transmite de manera idealizada a una auténtica y natural mujer romántica, cuyas vestimentas se desenvuelven en el ambiente a la par que sus andares , creando una simbiosis , o mejor dicho, una atmósfera, de armonía angelical. 

Pastel shades , transparencies , floral motifs , lace and some other ruffles, were the tricks-steps followed by designers to achieve this state of romance in vein , as wanted. Starring by sensual dresses and garments , that in the rare case of sticking do so in the waist, the lightness and freedom in the movement ,of the designs , became key elements to shout from the rooftops that we were facing a tenfold collection. Drawbacks? Although it pains me to say it in the soul , not quite see with good eyes , use and enjoyment of flat shoes designs chosen by the designers , to fit precisely the models who wore long dresses, which in my opinion, been given a print even more sensuous , stylish and vaporous (speaking of movement and drape of the fabric ) if they had been elected in his place , a stunning stilettos , as they made ​​with others of the outfits presented at the show. In short , up the romance !

Tonos pastel, transparencias, motivos florales, encajes y algún que otro volante fueron los trucos-pasos , seguidos por los diseñadores para lograr ese estado de romanticismo en vena, tan deseado.Protagonizada por sensuales vestidos y prendas, que en el raro caso de ceñirse, lo hacen en la cintura; la ligereza y libertad en cuanto al movimiento, de los diseños, se convirtieron en elementos clave para poder gritar a los cuatro vientos, que estábamos ante una colección diez. ¿Inconvenientes? Aunque me duela en el alma decirlo, no termino de ver con buenos ojos , el uso y disfrute de los diseños de zapatos planos escogido por los modistos, para calzar a las modelos que precisamente lucían vestidos largos, que a mi ver, hubieran dado una impresión todavía más sensual, estilizada y vaporosa (hablando del movimiento y caída de la tela) si se hubieran elegido en su lugar, unos despampanantes stilettos , como sí hicieron con otros de los outfits presentados durante el show. En resumen, ¡arriba el romanticismo!

MBFWM Day 1: Ana Locking

Hello everyone ! Fired full of Madrid and its charms , and more or less (though wistfully ) settled back home , I begin with this post to reviewing each and every one of the shows to which I have been able to attend this last edition of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid , where beforehand , I give my heartfelt thanks to all firms and designers that have once again told me as invited to their presentations ( shows) of their collections for the next S/S 2014 .

Despedido por completo de Madrid y sus encantos, y más o menos (aunque con nostalgia) asentado de nuevo en casa, doy comienzo con este post al repaso de todos y cada uno de los desfiles a los que he podido asistir esta pasada edición de la Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid; donde de antemano, doy mi más sincero agradecimiento a todas las firmas y diseñadores que una vez más han contado conmigo como invitado a las presentaciones (desfiles) de sus colecciones destinadas para la próxima P/V 2014.

After a busy and with a spectacular atmosphere VFNO , began with the always waited for me , Ana Locking´s fashion show , my first day in MBFWM . " What does God say " was the title chosen by the designer to dub her latest collection , a collection whose inspiration includes a complex that focuses on the play " Stalker " by Andrei Tarkovsky , where according to its argument , introduces us in a deep thought which places its sights on the man´s ideals, and the need to believe that this has something to stand up, even getting out of the religious context , and the role it plays in his life the money, the wealth and  the lust , which many times act as a smoke screen that prevents us from seeing what we really want to find in our individual reality .

Tras una ajetreada y con un ambiente espectacular VFNO, iniciaba con el para mí siempre esperado, desfile de Ana Locking, mi primera jornada en la MBFWM. "What does God say", fue el título escogido por la diseñadora para apodar a su última colección, una colección cuya inspiración comprende un complejo entramado que se centra en la obra "Stalker" de Andréi Tarkovski, donde de acuerdo a su argumento , nos introduce en una profunda reflexión que sitúa su punto de mira sobre los ideales del hombre , y la necesidad que este tiene de creer en algo para mantenerse en pie, saliéndonos inclusive del contexto religioso, y el papel que desempeña en su vida el dinero, la riqueza y la lujuria, que en múltiples ocasiones actúan como una cortina de humo que nos impide ver lo que de verdad queremos encontrar en nuestra realidad individual.

Under a flawless staging (as usual in Ana Locking´s parades ) , at the beginning of the walkway began making remarkable one of the key "prints" of the collection , featuring white and gray tones with black sharp straight, represented the coldest face of the nature ,covering architectural dresses , whose purpose (achieved ) was to find a silhouette that really stylize the body of the woman, that preceded the most representative elements of the collection in terms of Locking´s inspiration is concerned, where we could observe the presence of elements senders directly to it as were the American dollar bill , the pyramid of Providence or the six-pointed star , all symbols closely linked to faith , wisdom or the wealth, also, very personally, they remembered me to the old masonries and particularly to all the secrecy and mystery of the film " National Treasure ," starring by the actor Nicholas Cage .

Bajo una puesta en escena impecable (como de costumbre en los desfiles de Ana Locking), al comienzo de la pasarela se empezó a hacer notable uno de los "prints" clave de la colección , protagonizado por tonos blancos y grises que junto a cortantes rectas negras, representaban la cara más fría de la propia naturaleza, que cubría vestidos arquitectónicos, cuya finalidad (lograda) era encontrar una silueta que de verdad estilice el cuerpo de la mujer; que precedieron a la parte de la colección más representativa en cuanto a la inspiración de Locking se refiere, donde pudimos observar la presencia de elementos directamente remitentes a ella como fueron el billete de dólar americano, la Pirámide de la Providencia o la estrella de seis puntas, todos ellos símbolos estrechamente ligados a la fé, la sabiduría o la riqueza , que además , muy personalmente , me recordaron a las antiguas masonerías y particularmente a todo el secretismo e intrepidante misterio de la película "La Búsqueda", protagonizada por el actor Nicholas Cage.

Pristine suits with shorts for men , asymmetrical cut clothes for women, and dreamlikeand sweat shirts with motifs such as the Pyramid of Providence or the six-pointed star embroidered to both! A collection full of "must haves " , very worthy of starring our spring-summer closet.

Pero fueron sin duda sus estructurados conjuntos de chaqueta y falda estampados en sutiles combinaciones de colores flúor, los que de verdad me parecieron un regalo para la vista; los prints con motivos geométricos sobre rafia, tweed o punto de algodón reinaron sobre la pasarela , estando presentes tanto en la prendas de mujer como de caballero, aspecto de la moda de Ana Locking que sinceramente me encanta. Impolutos trajes de chaqueta y pantalón corto para ellos, prendas de corte asimétrico para ellas, ¡ y sudaderos de ensueño con motivos como la Pirámide de la Providencia o la estrella de seis puntas bordados para ambos! Una colección repleta de "must haves", muy dignos de protagonizar nuestra próxima primavera-verano.

Isabel Marant for H&M

A once a season , a star signature, belonging to the Olympus of fashion, adopts its earthly form , making wonderful sketches of what should be its own collection of the world of luxury and exclusivity, in a series of garments that meet canons , stereotypes and identity of that firm , in a much more " lowcost " version , aimed , without exception, for all mankind , and therefore no longer dream designs , and in many cases, real must haves . For those who have not heard yet , I'm talking about the very famous and much anticipated collaboration between a designer or firm with worldwide prestige and fame with the textile giant , H&M.
Un vez por temporada, una firma estrella , perteneciente al Olimpo de la moda, adopta su forma más terrenal, convirtiendo maravillosos bocetos de lo que debería de ser una colección propia del universo del lujo y la exclusividad, en una serie de prendas que cumplen con los cánones , estereotipos y señas de identidad de dicha firma, en una versión mucho más "lowcost", destinadas, sin excepción alguna, para toda la humanidad ,  y que no por ello dejan de ser diseños de ensueño, y en cantidad de ocasiones, auténticos must haves. Para el que todavía no se haya enterado, estoy hablando de las famosísimas y esperadísimas colaboraciones entre un diseñador o firma de prestigio y fama a nivel mundial con el gigante textil , H&M.

Marked by many with a large red permanent marker on the calendar from June this year , November would be the month to anyone who is considered a romantic with " Parisian chic " air (speaking in the context of "fashion", course) , the queen for excelence of casual , elegant , easy to wear but distinctive , and of course, romantic ashion , Isabel Marant , chose that date for the launch of her capsule collection in collaboration with the present worldwide ,lowcost signature , H&M.

Marcado por muchos con un gran rotulador permanente rojo en el calendario desde Junio de este mismo año, Noviembre iba a ser el mes de todo aquel que se considere un romántico/a con aires "chic parisinos" (hablando dentro del contexto "moda", claro), la reina por excelencia de la moda casual, elegante , fácil de llevar pero distintiva, y por supuesto , romántica, Isabel Marant, escogía dicha fecha para el lanzamiento de su colección cápsula en colaboración con la presente en todo el mundo, firma lowcost , H&M.

With about a month in advance prior to that we can buy the designs of the line , Isabel Marant and H M have discovered to the international press the fruits of their expected and ephemeral union. The collaboration seemed to be the star of the season , apparently over starry . I mean, I´m not saying that the collection has proved a horror,far from it! , Just I think, or at least talk to me, I had placed too many illusions in this collaboration and I do not expect much , much more from her than is said , which has made it for me a notable disappointment ... Please! We 're talking about Isabel Marant´s desgins with unbeatable prices and designing for first time men's clothes ! I imagined more charming designs ,sheer dresses and tops , denim jackets , suede jackets, leather jackets... Fringe , " cowboy" inspirations,you know, those little details and house marks that make Isabel Marant´s designs so lovely, not so many basic or irrelevant items that you can find perfectly in any section of H&M or Zara Basic without being under the label " Isabel Marant " !

Con más o menos un mes de antelación previo para que nos podamos hacer con los diseños de la línea, Isabel Marant y H&M han descubierto a la prensa internacional los frutos de su esperada y efímera unión. La que parecía ser la colaboración estrella de la temporada, ha terminado aparentemente estrellada. Me explico, no es que la colección haya resultado un horror, ¡ni mucho menos!, simplemente me parece, o al menos hablo en mi caso, que había depositado demasiadas ilusiones en esta colaboración y me esperaba mucho no, muchísimo más de ella que se dice, lo que ha hecho que resulte para mí una decepción notable...¡Por favor!¡Que estamos hablando de Isabel Marant a precios de risa y diseñando por primera vez prendas para caballero! Yo me imaginaba diseños con mucho más encanto, vestidos y tops vaporosos, chaquetas vaqueras , de ante ¡o como les viniesen en gana!, flecos, aires "cowboy", ¡ya sabéis, esos pequeños detalles y marcas de la casa que hacen que los diseños de Isabel Marant enamoren, no tantos básicos ni prendas irrelevantes que puedes encontrar perfectamente en cualquier sección de H&M o Zara Basic sin estar bajo la etiqueta de "Isabel Marant"!

Leaving aside my personal and quirky melodrama , I have to note that after browse again and again each and every one of the clothes and accessories of the collection, I have to say that I could make a very substantial list of possible "must haves " you know, clothes and accessories that I'm sure that will a success and hand views have to be much more spectacular , well once set , lay like a glove . Again not to think that I have some sort of bipolar disorder , the collection is NOT bad , just not hooked, not make you wait on (as with other previous collaborations H&M ) to make you one of its outfits , I think they could have made ​​much more of their project. Mind you , no one removes the desire to wear one of its sensational pants with ethnic details or some of the clothes with complex networks in knitty , but happens the same with the women's collection , what do you think of these impeccable skinny jeans or these voluptuous designs in knitty? I guess I have to wait until November to give a final verdict to " Isabel Marant for H M " .

Dejando por un lado mi peculiar y personal melodrama, también tengo que remarcar que tras ojear una y otra vez todas y cada una de las prendas y accesorios de la colección , tengo que decir que he podido realizar una lista considerable de muy posibles "must haves", ya sabéis, prendas y complementos de los que estoy seguro que darán de que hablar y que vistas en mano tienen que ser mucho más espectaculares, además de  una vez puestas, sentar como anillo al dedo. Repito para que no penséis que tengo alguna especie de trastorno de bipolaridad, la colección NO es mala, sencillamente no engancha, no hace que te desvivas (como ocurre con otras colaboraciones anteriores de H&M) por hacerte con uno de sus modelitos, creo que se podría haber sacado mucho más partido al asunto. Eso sí, nadie me quita las ganas de lucir uno de sus sensacionales pantalones con motivos étnicos o algunas de las prendas con complejos entramados de punto; pero lo mismo ocurre con la colección femenina, ¿qué me decís de estos impecables pantalones pitillo o estos voluptuosos diseños en punto? Supongo que haya que esperar hasta Noviembre para dar un veredicto final a "Isabel Marant for H&M".

The Farewell of Kenzo for Vans

You heard right, one of the most successful and media collaborations between fashion houses of today comes to an end, but as expected, it does it big. With the release of this fifth collection of shoes and caps, the enigmatic French maison Kenzo and the Californian and leading streetwear firm, Vans, put an end to a beautiful relationship that has done more to bring joy to the shelves for shoes of our closets.
Habéis oído bien , una de las colaboraciones más mediáticas y exitosas entre firmas de moda de la actualidad llega a su fin, pero como era de esperar , lo hace a lo grande. Con el lanzamiento de esta quinta colección de zapatillas y gorras, la enigmática maison francesa Kenzo y la firma californiana líder en streetwear, Vans , ponen punto y final a una bonita relación que no ha hecho más que traer alegrías a las baldas para zapatos de nuestros armarios.

As usual, the key to this symbiosis is based on the use of colorful and exotic prints by Kenzo, present in many items of its collection of "ready to wear" for this autumn-winter 2013-14 (indeed, in this time you could say that these prints are the epicenter of its entire collection) such as the "flying tiger" or "day clouds", on some of the most representative and famous models of shoes of Vans´archive.
Como de costumbre , la clave de esta simbiosis se basa en el uso de los coloridos y exóticos estampados de Kenzo, presentes en multitud de prendas de su colección de "ready to wear" para este otoño-invierno 2013-14 (es más, en esta ocasión se podría decir que estos estampados son el epicentro de toda su colección) tales como el "flying tiger" o "day clouds", sobre algunos de los modelos de zapatillas más representativos y famosos del archivo de Vans.

Although my favorite model, the apple of my eye, of Vans is the "New Era", I have to say that none of the designs have any waste line, again not failed us and get captivated (or at least me) with a number of models of shoes with the words "must have" tattooed, and yes, if not noticed, I focus mostly regarding the shoes because I have to confess that precisely caps are not for me, but if I ever would like to buy one, those of this collaboration would be an excellent candidate.
Aunque mi modelo favorito, la niña de mis ojos, de Vans es su "New Era", tengo que decir que ninguno de los diseños de la línea tienen desperdicio alguno, una vez más no nos han fallado y consiguen cautivarnos (o al menos a mí) con una serie de modelos de calzado con las palabras "must have" tatuadas; y sí, por si no se nota, me centro sobre todo en lo referente a las zapatillas porque tengo que confesar que las gorras no son precisamente lo mío, aunque si alguna vez se me pasara por la cabeza hacerme con una, las de esta colaboración serían unas excelentes candidatas.

Who has been chosen to immortalize this latest collaboration? The New York-based artist-photographer, Brianna Capozzi, who took full control of the direction and symbolically relocated the entire photo shoot on the set of a television news. Certainly a campaign to remember.
¿Y quién ha sido la elegida para inmortalizar esta última colaboración? La artista-fotógrafa neoyorquina , Brianna Capozzi, quien tomó por completo las riendas de la dirección, y trasladó simbólicamente toda la sesión de fotos al plató de unos tele-informativos. Sin duda , una campaña para recordar.
