¡Buenos días a todos!Lo prometido es deuda así que aquí os dejo con la entrevista que hemos hecho a la diseñadora de bolsos Laura Vela , todas las respuestas son de su puño y letra .Como ya os la he presentado en spots anteriores no hace falta que os lo vuela a hacer,¡Espero que la disfrutéis tanto como yo haciéndola!
*¿Por qué crees que el bolso es la parte más importante del armario de una mujer?
The bag reflects women´s personallity , is her most intimate part where people keep our most personal things , what what we need for a day , to sum uo , we keep in it part of our life. It reflects our mood. For example; if one day you feel like a tidy girl you will keep your bag perfetly tidied. However if a day you are stressed you will keep it rather messy. The key thing is that you are able to know a little more about a person looking at her bag. Furthemore it is the most important fashion accesory as it can improves your look completely or costumizes it even more. A woman chooses her bag depending of the way she feels and on the activities for that day.
El bolso refleja la personalidad de una mujer , es su parte más intima por que es donde las personas metemos nuestras cosas más personales , lo que necesitamos para un día; en resumen , guardamos en él parte de nuestra vida. Refleja nuestro estado de ánimo , por ejemplo , si un día te sientes algo más organizada llevarás tu bolso perfectamente ordenado en cambio un día en el que estas estresado lo llevarás hecho un desastre. La parte clave es que sin saber nada de una persona , viendo su bolso puedes saber un poco más acerca de ella. A parte de que es el complemento más importante que hay , puesto que te puede arreglar tu "look" completamente o personalizarte todavía más. Una mujer elige su bolso dependiendo de como se sienta y de lo que valla a hacer ese día.
*What are your inspiration sources?
*¿Cuáles son tus fuentes de inspiración?
My creations have paid tribute to some members of my family and friends so far. Because they are people who inspire me and I try to give expression to their personallity features to my designs by means of some study of the colours , textures , etc...Nothing has been done at random but everything is studied and deliberated ; always following my style.
Hasta ahora mis colecciones han rendido homenaje a miembros de mi familia y amigos , por que es gente que me inspira e intento pasar los rasgos de su personalidad a mis diseños mediante un estudio de colores , texturas y demás , nada está hecho al azar si no que que todo esta estudiado y premeditado pero siempre siendo fiel a mi estilo.
My other inspiration source is nature , thanks to my work I usually travel to South America and Europe so I take advantages of this to design a lot , I love nature , landscapes , the trees , the beaches...
Mi otra gran fuente de inspiración es la naturaleza , gracias a mi trabajo viajo mucho a Sur América y Europa , donde aprovecho para diseñar muchísimo , adoro la naturaleza , los paisajes , los árboles , la playa...
*How do you feel when celebrities such us Sarah J. Parker or Olivia Palermo wear your creations?
*¿Qué sientes cuando celebridades de la talla de Sarah J. Parker u Olivia Palermo llevan tus creaciones?
It is an honour . Well ; it is just the same when a comoun woman wears one of my bags.
Es un gran honor al igual que cuando una mujer normal y corriente lleva uno de mis diseños.
*How did you create your own brand and what was the origen?
*¿Qué es que te propongan montar tu marca con tu nombre?
In fact , nobody proposed me to create my own bag brand , it was my own idea and I started it alone. I am starting it from scratch , I could have created it with another name , but I think that having your own label is personal , I pit so much passion and dedication on it that calling it something so by my name makes it be costumized even more.
La verdad es que nadie me propuso crear mi propia firma de bolsos , fue más una idea que tuve yo misma y que empecé sola. Lo estoy montando todo desde cero , lo podría haber creado con otro nombre , pero creo que el tener tu propia firma es algo tan personal , es algo en lo que pongo tanta pasión y dedicación que ponerle mi nombre hace que se personalice todavía más.
*Are you skared that your future collections aren´t so successful as you previous ones?
*¿Tienes miedo a que tus futuras colecciones no tengan tanto éxito como las anteriores?
I hope they will be much better. You shouldn´t be afraid of evollving , fear only prevents you from going forward from improving and from making what you really want to do.
Espero que sean mucho mejores.No hay que tener miedo a evolucionar , el miedo solo impide avanzar , mejorar y hacer lo que de verdad quieres.

It is aimed at a woman who knows what she wants, woman who isn´t slave to famous logo, that means that they are not going to buy a bag because of it´s label. They are looking for quallity and design.
Van un poco dirigidos a mujeres que saben lo que quieren , muejres que no son esclavas de una marca o logotipo en el sentido de que no van a comprar un bolso por su firma sino por su diseño, por que les gusta de verdad el bolso; que valoren la calidad y el diseño.

Right now I spend all my time devoted to my brand. I have just finished my studies. I worked for Prada in New York.
Ahora mismo estoy muy centrada en mi marca , hace poco que he terminado mis estudios. He trabajado para y Prada en Nueva York.
*What difficulties did you find at the begining of your career?
*¿Qué dificultades encontraste al principio de tu carrera?
Well , a lot ; you have to fight a lot because this is not just making bags , there is a bussiness behind you , you have to look after all the elements very much. You must have your creativity hightly developed to run your bussiness , to face up suppliers , to travel , to be in meetings with older people , to find manufactures ...This are difficulties that are always there , not only in recession times , everything is very complicate...
Bueno estas son muchísimas , tienes que luchar muchísimo por que esto no se trata solo de hacer bolsos , hay un negocio detrás , hay que cuidar muchísimo todos los aspectos , la creatividad tienes que tenerla muy desarrollada , tanto en como llevar un negocio como en afrontar un problema , crear una marca desde cero , viajar , estar en reuniones con gente mucho más mayor , crear el conocimiento de marca , encontrar proveedores , fabricantes...Creo que son dificultades que están presente siempre , no solo en periodos de recesión económica , es todo muy complicado...
*What was the source of inspiration for your first bag?
*¿De dónde surgió la inspiración de tu primer bolso?
It was in a travel to Argentina. I made it myself , it was when I started to investigate about the leather . My inspiration for this bag was when I started to combine the leather with studs. Is a clutch bag made of natural leather with a sort of flounces and adorned with studs.
Fue a raíz de un viaje a Argentina , lo hice yo , fue cuando empecé a investigar un poco el cuero , mi inspiración en este bolso fue la naturaleza , en una playa , y entonces fue cuando empecé un poco a combinar este material con tachuelas; es un bolso tipo "clutch" en cuero natural con una especie de volantes y adornado con tachuelas.
*What did you study at ESADE?
*¿Qué estudios cursaste en ESADE?
I studied at ESADE business administratios , I did the college and the master.

*Your vocation as a designer comes from childhood or was it later?
*¿Tu vocación como diseñadora viene desde la infancia o fue algo más tardío?
The fashion has been in my life always.
I have always loved and always in some way or another , unwillingly or unknowingly been inside of me. Akways that I have had free time I have spended it reading fashion magazines , designing , drawing...
La moda siempre ha estado presente en mi vida .
Siempre me ha encantado y siempre de alguna forma u otra , sin quererlo o saberlo ha estado dentro de mi.Siempre que he tenido algún momento libre mientras estudiaba lo he dedicado a revistas de moda , a dibujar , diseñar...
*How did you make the decision to move to New York?
*¿Cómo tomaste la decisión de trasladarte a Nueva York?
I moved to study , I wanted to be good in the design theme , I had already participated in several courses during the summer at FIT ; and the final and most important decision of moving to New York was to go to Parson's.
Me trasladé aquí para estudiar , quería formarme bien en el tema del diseño , yo ya había participado en varios cursos durante el verano en FIT ; y la decisión final y más importante de trasladarme a Nueva York fue para entrar en Parson´s.
*What did you do to enter in Parson´s?
*¿Qué hiciste para entrar en Parson´s?
Well I made the application, each application is different, you'll require a portfolio, a source of inspiration .....
and these must prepare a lot of good. It was a great experience.
Pues hice la aplicación , cada aplicación es un mundo ,te exigen un portfolio , una fuente de inspiración .....y estas hay que prepararlas mucho y muy bien. Ha sido una gran experiencia.
*What is your fabourite design?
*¿Cuál de tus diseños es tu preferido?
Each and every one of them are part of me , I love all and I am not able to decant any more that all are inspired by people and things I want and I like , and as I said, they are part of me and my personality. I am consuming my own bags.
Todos y cada uno de mis diseños forman parte de mi , adoro todos y no me puedo decantar más por ninguno por que todos están inspirados en personas y cosas que quiero y me gustan y como ya he dicho son parte de mi y de mi personalidad .Yo mismo soy consumidora de mis propios bolsos.
*What is the perfume that most reflects your personality?
*¿Cuál es el perfume que más refleja tu personalidad?
My essence is Miss Dior Chérie, I see that reflected sweetness, innocence, freshness ... I think that is the essence that I like and reflects my personality.
Mi esencia es Miss Dior Chérie , la veo que refleja dulzura , inocencia , frescura...creo que es la esencia que más me gusta y más refleja mi personalidad.
*Who would you like to see with one of your designs?
*¿A quién te gustaría ver con uno de tus diseños?
I always answer the same, I know you want me to answer something else, but for me are my mother and my sisters , because they are the people most love and admire and I know how they are , that they do not take my designs to be the sister or daughter, but really like.
Siempre respondo lo mismo , sé que queréis que responda otra cosa , pero para mi son mi madre y mis hermanas , por que son las personas a las que más quiero y admiro y por que sé como son , por que ellas no llevan mis diseños por que sea la hermana o la hija, sino por que les gustan de verdad.
*Do you plan to design handbags for men?
*¿Tienes pensado diseñar bolsos para caballero?
The truth is that yes I would in the future , I would like wait a little , not want to fall into the trap of rush, I think things are better little by little , do not stop being a young company that first we have to consolidate a bit with the ground.
La verdad es que sí me gustaría en un futuro, quiero esperar un poco , no quiero caer en el error de precipitarme , creo que las cosas son mejores poquito a poco , no dejamos de ser una empresa joven y que primero nos tenemos que afianzar un poco con el terreno.
*What is the Must Have in your collection this season?
*¿Cuál es el Must Have de tu colección para esta temporada?
Although I can not have a favorite this season consider a Must Have for all my model Jules Geneva. I love the combination of colors, prints and textures.
Aunque no puedo tener un favorito esta temporada considero todo un Must Have a mi modelo Jules Geneva. Me encanta su combinación de colores , prints y texturas.
*What is the next step of Laura Vela?
*¿Cuál es el siguiente paso de Laura Vela?
The next step is to keep working and build the brand and that little by little, fence making it known in different countries and not fall into the mistake of running and passing.
El siguiente paso es seguir trabajando y consolidar la marca y que poquito a poco , se valla haciendo más conocida en distintos países y no caer en el error de correr y adelantarse.

So say some French brands like Vanessa Bruno could be Isabel Marant or brands that are casual but classy style.
Pues diría algunas marcas francesas como podrían ser Vanessa Bruno o Isabel Marant por que son marcas con estilo desenfadado pero con clase.

It was great, I feel very fortunate, is a person who in the world of fashion is a great professional and able to share some words with her was very exciting.
Fue una maravilla , me siento muy afortunada , es una persona que en el mundo de la moda es una gran profesional y el poder compartir unas palabras con ella fue muy emocionante.
*What has a Laura Vela not have another bag?

My personal style, elegance and sophistication with a free spirit, because I do not think these two are not compatible.
Mi estilo personal , la elegancia y sofisticación con espíritu libre , por que no creo que estas dos características sean incompatibles.
