If you have not seen the name Juan Vidal in headers of the most prestigious fashion magazines and publications ,you must live in a cave or cell, this time, our special guest designer and artist by trade, is the winner of the latest edition of the famous competition organized by Vogue Spain, Vogue who's the Next, held on May 9 in Madrid, event with I hope also to make known all the work and talent of Juan Vidal and his signature , open road just as the other great and talented designers finalists who didn´t win.
Si todavía no has visto el nombre de Juan Vidal en cabeceras de las más prestigiosas revistas y publicaciones de moda debes de vivir en una especie de cueva o celda, en esta ocasión, nuestro invitado especial, diseñador y artista de oficio, es el ganador de la última edición del célebre concurso organizado por la revista Vogue España , Vogue Who´s the Next , celebrado el pasado 9 de Mayo en Madrid, evento con el espero que además de dar a conocer todo el trabajo y talento de Juan Vidal y su firma, abra camino del mismo modo al resto de excelentes y talentosos diseñadores finalistas del concurso que no se alzaron con la victoria.

1. When did you decide you wanted to dedicate the fashion world?
1.¿Cuándo decidiste que querías dedicarte al mundo de la moda?
There wasn´t a particular time, my family was in the industry and since I was young I was very interested in and I played with clothes.
No fue un momento concreto, mi familia se dedicaba al sector y desde muy pequeño me interesó jugar con la ropa.
2.How did you start your first steps into world of fashion?
2.¿Cómo comenzaron o fueron tus primeros pasos dentro del mundo de la moda?
Some customers of my mother gave the opportunity to lay them some costumes when I was only a teenager.
Algunas clientes de mi madre me dieron la oportunidad de diseñarles algunos trajes cuando tan solo era un adolescente.
3.What are your sources of inspiration?
3.¿Cuáles son tus fuentes de inspiración?
The woman, fashion, art, cinema, music, my surroundings, I breathe ... my friends, my mother, the life.
La mujer, la moda, el arte, el cine, la música, lo que me rodea, lo que respiro ... mis amigas, mi madre, la vida.
4.Who do you design for, how is the Juan Vidal woman?
4.¿Para quién diseñas, cómo es la mujer Juan Vidal?
It's a real woman who knows what she wants, is sophisticated, understands what she's wearing and knows how to give it different uses. It's feminine and has no age.
Es una mujer real, que sabe lo que quiere, es sofisticada, entiende lo que lleva puesto y sabe darle diferentes usos. Es femenina y no tiene edad.
5.What or how is the style of Juan Vidal?
5.¿Cuál o cómo es el estilo de Juan Vidal?
Feminine and contemporary looking the past but at the same time thinking of today, the present.
Femenino y contemporaneo sin dejar de mirar al pasado pero pensando en el hoy, el presente.
6.Who are your influences and icons of style and fashion?
6.¿Quiénes son tus influencias e iconos de estilo y moda?
My mother, I owe her all I know ,is a real woman, not an icon or myth do not know.
Mi madre, a ella se lo debo todo, es una mujer real, no un icono o mito al que no conozco.
7.When you are designing a collection, do you usually have a leitmotiv behind it?
7.A la hora de diseñar una colección , ¿suele haber un leitmotiv detrás de ella?
Behind everything you do must be a reason, otherwise it would have no purpose or meaning.
Detrás de todo lo que uno hace debe existir un porqué, de otra forma carecería de intención o sentido.
8.Why Moscow, as a stage to present your latest collection?
8.¿Por qué Moscú, como escenario para presentar tu última colección?
Because I was able to do a parade in a city with more economic and social boom times and do not hesitate for a moment.
Porque tuve la oportunidad de hacer un desfile en una de las ciudades con más auge económico y social del momento y no lo dude ni un instante.
9.What characterizes or difference your firm from others?
9.¿Qué diferencia o caracteriza a tu firma de otras?
At one extreme attention to detail in everything I do.
Hay un extremo cuidado del detalle en todo lo que hago.

11.What is always present in your collections?
11.¿Qué está presente siempre en tus colecciones?
Femininity.
Feminidad.
12. If you were not a designer, what would you be doing?
12. Si no fueras diseñador ,¿a qué te dedicarías?
Visual arts. I would be a painter, sculptor, photographer ... who knows, but definitely fine arts.
Artes plásticas. Hubiera sido pintor, escultor, fotógrafo ... quién sabe, pero definitivamente artes plásticas.
13.What catwalk would you like to join?
13.¿En qué pasarela te gustaría llegar a desfilar?
For now I am content to continue presenting collections :)

14. What other firms do you think you'd fit desiging for?
14.¿Para qué otras firmas crees que encajarías diseñando?
It's a complicated question, if given the choice of entering a design team established an international firm would also be a great step.

15.What hallmarks can be seen in your clothes and designs?

A delicacy, sensitivity and a certain magic.

17. If you had to add the name of your firm a city, as a starting point or place set it, what would it be?
17. Si tuvieras que añadirle al nombre de tu firma una ciudad, como punto de partida o lugar donde establecerla, ¿cuál sería?
ELDA. We must live in the present but not forget our roots.
ELDA. Debemos vivir el presente pero no olvidar nuestras raíces.
18. What other artists would you like to collaborate with?

I'm open to all sorts of collaborations, a good start would be dance.
Estoy abierto a todo tipo de colaboraciones, un buen comienzo sería la danza.
19. Who is for you the top model of the moment, who you like to see defending your looks on the catwalk?
19.¿Quién es para ti la topmodel del momento , a la que te gustaría ver defendiendo tus looks en la pasarela?
I have a penchant for beautiful faces but unknown.
Tengo predilección por los rostros bellos pero desconocidos.
20. Why did you agree to do this interview?
20.¿Por qué accediste a hacer esta entrevista?
Because it's another way to express myself, gives me voice.
Porque es una forma más de expresarme, me da voz.
