Domingo 7 de septiembre. Una alegre y entusiasta Donatella Versace recorría la pasarela como señal de que el último desfile de la línea joven de la casa de moda italiana que lleva su apellido, Versus, había llegado a su fin. Pero esta, divinizada por muchos, Donatella, no lo hacía sola, le acompañaba en cada uno de sus pasos otro gran artista, el joven y célebre diseñador, Anthony Vaccarello.

Los que debido a nuestra temprana edad, conocimos Versus de la mano del brillante Christopher Kane, quien durante su corta estancia al frente de la marca, nos convirtió a todos nosotros en fieles seguidores de la misma, cosa que era de esperar, pues sus originales diseños no dejaban indiferente a nadie; añorábamos una colaboración de tal calibre. Varios son los artistas y diseñadores que se han atrevido a revivir el espíritu rockero del difunto Gianni, pero tras la salida de Kane, ninguno con especial éxito. Definitivamente, Versus necesitaba esta colección cápsula. Así es, en boca de Versace, la unión entre la firma y el talentoso Vaccarello parece ser de momento nada más que una colaboración efímera.

Durante el show, el cual fue retransmitido en directo desde la página web de Versus, y cuyos looks ya se pueden adquirir en ella, se hizo visible la simbiosis tan sumamente bella que formaban los estilos de ambas casas, donde los cortes asimétricos y las sensacionalistas aperturas tan propias de Vaccarello, se fusionaban con las sensuales y atrevidas siluetas, marca de la casa Versace, formando un lenguaje propio, que sobre la pasarela, se convertía en pura poesía-rock para ojos y armarios.

No cabe duda de que lo presentado fue una colección sólida, consistente, y como digo yo, con chispa. Una colección donde como no podía ser de otro modo, el negro, el color más rock que se le puede venir a uno a la cabeza, teñía la gran mayoría de los espectaculares vestidos, chaquetas, pantalones y demás prendas que la formaban. Fue una cita donde no faltaron las maxi-aperturas, el cuero, las aplicaciones metálicas, los imperdibles, pero tampoco lo hicieron los motivos inspirados en el arte grecolatino, o el opulento toque del color dorado, todo ello y más contribuía a resucitar la faceta más primitiva y legado del Gran Gianni Versace.
Vaccarello and Versus, Versus and Vaccarello ... So pretty love story! We can only cross our fingers and ask that the romance between the designer and the firm continue, meaning therefore, the appointment of Anthony Vaccarello as the new creative director of Versus. Donatella, take note!
