My MBFWM 2013 Experience-Hannibal Laguna

Hi everyone! The Queens Also Fart is here to put you on top of everything that happens in this Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid 2013. Between cocktail and show we took a break to introduce you and give you our opinion about the parades collections to which we are attending as guests during the fashion week in Madrid, there are many proposals but finally only the best are those who stay with us here at The Queens Also Fart. I feel really privileged for being able to attend this important event and I thank in advance to all firms and designers who have told us and we were invited to present their collections for Autumn / Winter 2013-2014 .
¡Hola a todos! The Queens also Fart ya está aquí para poneros al tanto de todo lo que sucede en esta Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid 2013. Entre cóctel y desfile nos tomamos un descanso para introduciros y daros nuestro punto de vista acerca de las colecciones de los desfiles a los que estamos asistiendo como invitados durante la la semana de la moda de Madrid; muchas son las propuestas pero finalmente solo las mejores son las que se quedan con nosotros aquí , en The Queens also Fart. Me siento realmente privilegiado por el hecho de poder asistir a este importantísimo evento y doy las gracias de antemano a todas las firmas y diseñadores que han contado con nosotros y nos han invitado a la presentación de sus colecciones para la temporada Otoño/Invierno 2013-2014.

We started with a big of MBFWM, Hannibal Laguna himself, known for his elegant, refined and exquisite style who dresses a sensual and about all classy woman.
Empezamos con un grande la MBFWM , el mismísimo Hannibal Laguna , conocido por su estilo elegante , refinado y exquisito que viste de noche a una mujer sensual y ante todo, con clase.

What about the show of Laguna? As would say "Jack the Ripper" Let's go by parts: Sorry but to begin I would send to the guillotine the person in charge of selecting and coordinating the parade music, songs sounded like "Firework" by Katy Perry and "Make Me Wanna Die" by The Pretty Reckless full of energy that clash with the slow walk of the models, also changed and combined too many songs during the show. A part of this little incident I remind you that this tells us that we must never judge a book by its cover because something similar happened to me at the beginning of the show for the first looks sincerely meant nothing to me, is more, the first freaked me a bit and of course, I already started to make me my own assumptions about what would be the rest of the parade, assumptions that were flied, half since the models appearing on the catwalk the show took shape and category so glad I finally got out of there.
¿Qué decir del desfile de Laguna? Como diría "Jack, el destripador" , vallamos por partes: Lo siento pero para empezar mandaría a la guillotina al encargado de seleccionar y coordinar la música del desfile; sonaron canciones como "Firework" de Katy Perry o "Make me wanna die" de The Pretty Reckless llenas de energía que desentonaban con el caminar lento y el aire de pasimonia de las modelos; además cambiaron y combinaron demasiadas canciones durante el show. A parte de este pequeño incidente he de recordaros aquel dicho que nos dice que nunca debemos juzgar un libro por su portada ya que algo parecido me pasó a mi al comienzo del desfile por que sinceramente los primeros looks no me decían nada , es más , el primero me horrorizó un poco y claro, yo ya empecé a hacerme mis propias suposiciones acerca de lo que iba a ser el resto del desfile , suposiciones que se fueron volando puesto que a media que aparecían las modelos sobre la pasarela el show iba cobrando forma y categoría por lo que finalmente salí de allí encantado.

El detalle de las borlas en los vestidos y los sutiles y escasos estampados utilizados emanan cierta inspiración oriental a los diseños, Hannibal no viste a la mujer para el día a día , ni para cualquier noche, sino para "La noche" convirtiendo a la mujer en el foco de atención y miradas con sus impresionantes vestidos. Laguna vuelve a confiar en las transparencias , encajes y ricos bordados para reflejar el lujo característico de la marca y realzar y destacar la feminidad y sensualidad de la mujer.

Partes de arriba ceñidas al busto unidas a voluminosas faldas eran algunas de las señas de identidad de la colección ; colores como el verde esmeralda , el rojo ,el plata o el champán  se hicieron con la pasarela. Lujo, opulencia y tradición se unen en la colección "Barock & Roll" presentada por el diseñador Hannibal Laguna y finalizada junto a la modelo Vanessa Romero para el otoño-invierno que viene.

The Chic Camouflage

DelPozo conquers NY

Very good morning! Party's over, carnivals promised and fulfilled but it's time to return to the routine (dying gasp), the next closest celebrations are the Valentine's Day (February 14) and of course the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Madrid, in which The Queens Also Fart will be pleased to attend as guests to a series of parades so keep you updated via Twitter (@ Tqueensalsofart) as we will post live the best proposals for each show, and I'll go discovered over the week to be attending parades!
¡Muy buenos días! Se acabó la fiesta , los carnavales prometían y de hecho han cumplido pero es momento de volver a la rutina (suspiro agonizante); las próximas celebraciones más cercanas son el día de San Valentin (14 de Febrero) y por supuesto la Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week en Madrid , a la que The Queens also Fart tendrá el placer de asistir como invitados a una serie de desfiles por lo que manteneros informados vía Twitter (@Tqueensalsofart) puesto que colgaremos en directo las mejores propuestas de cada desfile,¡ ya os iremos descubriendo a lo largo de la semana más desfiles a los que asistiremos!

It is not the first Spanish company to debut in the gateway of the city of New York, as designers and established brands like Davidelfin or specially Custo Barcelona are already common in the New York scene, but certainly the show that gave Josep Font in front of the DelPozo legendary Spanish house (formerly called Jesus del Pozo) is worth mentioning more than a single event. The new designer and creative director of the company decided that Del Pozo is absent for the first time the fashion week in Madrid to join at New York Fashion Week for first time too.
No es la primera firma española que debuta en la pasarela de la ciudad de Nueva York , diseñadores y marcas consagradas como Davidelfin o en especial Custo Barcelona ya son habituales en el panorama neoyorquino , pero sin duda el espectáculo que dio Josep Font al frente de la legendaria casa española DelPozo (anteriormente llamada Jesús del Pozo) es digno de mencionar  más que como un simple suceso. El nuevo diseñador y director creativo de la firma decidió que Del Pozo se ausentase por primera vez de la semana de la moda de Madrid para desfilar también por  primera vez en Nueva York.

We were all taken by surprise the news; Josep Font's debut as creative director of DelPozo held with the presentation of the spring / summer 2013 (which incidentally I loved) and had something special and new to change the scenario absenting from the usual presentation in IFEMA in Madrid.
A todos nos pilló por sorpresa la noticia; el debut de Josep Font como director creativo de DelPozo que tuvo lugar con la presentación de la colección primavera/verano 2013 (que por cierto me encantó) ya tuvo algo de especial y novedoso al cambiar el escenario de su presentación ausentándose del habitual recinto de Ifema en Madrid.

With all this information revolution that already are living a few years ago, DelPozo  broadcast live his show from New York so we all had a chance to see it from home opportunity that I missed last Sunday. The talent and the long history of Jesus del Pozo certainly leaves the bar high for his successor, but in spite of this Font, leaves us speechless Delpozo elevating the absolute success only after presenting two collections.
Gracias a toda esta revolución informática que desde ya hace unos años estamos viviendo , DelPozo retransmitió en directo su desfile desde Nueva York por lo que todos teníamos la oportunidad de verlo desde casa, oportunidad que no me perdí el pasado Domingo. El talento y la larga trayectoria de Jesús del Pozo deja sin duda el listón muy alto a su sucesor ,pero a pesar de ello Font , nos deja sin palabras elevando a Delpozo al éxito absoluto tras presentar tan solo dos colecciones.

The parade took place at Studio Canoe in a minimalist atmosphere, pure and full of light overlooking the Hudson River, the only color shades as fuchsia marked the seat upholstery and cheerful floral carpet that decorated the floor. in terms of design and fashion is concerned, I get up and shout from the rooftops Josep name .... El desfile tuvo lugar en el Canoe Studio en una atmósfera muy minimalista, pura y llena de luz con vistas al río  Hudson; los únicos matices de color lo marcaban la tapicería fucsia de los asientos y la alegre alfombra con motivos florales que decoraba el suelo.En cuanto al diseño y a la moda se refiere , me levanto y grito a los cuatro vientos el nombre de Josep....Cada modelo que aparecía sobre la pasarela lo hacía pisando fuerte, Font nos envuelve en una nueva perspectiva y estilo más eclécticos , el corte tan puro e impoluto y bien definido de las prendas hacen literalmente que babeemos, las faldas y vestidos cobraban vida a cada paso que las modelos daban ; los originales detalles bordados aportaban a las prendas una mayor sensación de lujo y distinción; no faltaron tampoco los estampados florales ; colores como el fucsia o el rojo se apoderaron de los tonos más crudos y nude dando como resultado un contraste más que favorecedor , pero ante todo nos quedamos con sus voluminosas siluetas entre las que estaban presentes cortes "oversize", todas muy dignas de ovación.

My Last Farewell to Yves

It comforts me, and to know that I'm not the only person aware of the dark cloud that has brought the designer Hedi Slimane with his arrival at Yves Saint Laurent, forgiveness, Saint Laurent Paris. There are so many things that go through my head right now that do not even know where to start ...
Me consuela, y mucho saber que no soy la única persona consciente del nubarrón que ha traído el diseñador Hedi Slimane con su llegada a Yves Saint Laurent , perdón, Saint Laurent París. Son tantas las cosas que se me pasan por la cabeza en este momento que no sé ni por donde empezar...

Personally qualify the joint between the designer and the brand of chaotic, Slimane is loading literally iconic fashion house, whose influence has been crucial and decisive in the fashion world since its founding in the 60s. With several motives or reasons I argument my position , the designer is doing a wash and change of aesthetic and big picture to the French firm, perhaps the most significant change or that has been the talk has been the replacement of the original name house "Yves Saint Laurent" to "Saint Laurent Paris", completely forgetting the name of his founder.
Personalmente califico la unión entre el diseñador y la firma de caótica , Slimane se está cargando literalmente una casa de moda icónica , cuya influencia ha sido trascendental y decisiva en el mundo de la moda desde su fundación en los años 60. Con varios motivos o razones argumento mi posición, el diseñador está realizando un lavado y cambio de estética e imagen al completo a la firma francesa , quizás el cambio más significativo o que más ha dado de que hablar ha sido la sustitución del nombre original de la casa "Yves Saint Laurent" por "Saint Laurent París" , olvidando por completo el nombre de su fundador.

It certainly is a monumental blunder, the "Yves" of "Yves Saint Laurent" is irreplaceable, only the initial of the word, the letter "Y",  is iconic in itself, its image is part of the famous logo of the house and is also present in a variety of articles, designs and accessories as hallmark signature. It's funny or even ironic that  visiting biography of Yves Saint Laurent at the web  wikipedia.org, speak of "YSL" as the quintessential logo design still in effect since 1961 until today, unfortunately detail should update ... The problem Yves is that the name of its creator is as representative as his surname, not go as other fashion houses to which we ended by naming only the surname of the designer-fundador.No goes without saying, but I do, that the change company name also means the disappearance of its famous logo.
¿Que qué opino del cambio de nombre de la firma? Sin duda es una metedura de pata monumental , el "Yves" de "Yves Saint Laurent" es irremplazable , solo la inicial de la palabra ,la letra "Y" , ya es icónica de por sí sola , su imagen forma parte del conocido logo de la casa además de estar presente en gran variedad de artículos , diseños y accesorios de la firma como seña de identidad. Es gracioso o incluso irónico que visitando la biografía del diseñador en la web wikipedia.org , hablan del "YSL" como el logo por excelencia todavía vigente desde su diseño en 1961 hasta  nuestros días, detalle que por desgracia deberían actualizar...El problema de Yves es que el nombre de su creador es tan representativo como su apellido , no pasa como en otras casas de moda a las que terminamos nombrando únicamente por el apellido del diseñador-fundador.No hace falta mencionar, pero lo hago ,que el cambio de nombre de la compañía también supone la desaparición de su famoso logotipo.

Pero el daño causado por Slimane no termina aquí , su planteamiento y práctica de cambio de imagen lleva a un nuevo concepto de tienda "Saint Laurent París" y a una nueva estética calificada de minimalista presente tanto en la presentación de sus colecciones como en el etiquetado y packaging , haciendo de este lo más sencillo del mundo. Con Hedi Slimane parece que hemos vuelto a una época austera con una alta dosis de sobriedad, cambiando la etiqueta "YSL" por el simple nombre de la firma en un marco o fondo negro que recuerda al de cualquier otra firma como pudiera ser una etiqueta de Zara por ejemplo....en resumen , tanto cambio para al final presentarnos algo ya muy visto , no os hacéis idea de lo mucho que está echando a perder todo el legado de Yves Saint Laurent...

Si a todos estos cambios y problemas les añadimos un diseño y unas colecciones magníficas la cosa sería muy diferente , pero como no se da el caso , esto empeora aún más la situación. La nueva estética y estilo que Yves Saint Laurent nos presenta de la mano de Hedi Slimane es como su mismo concepto o etiqueta : sobrio , aburrido , muy minimalista , poco innovador e incluso carente de gusto alguno. Nos presentan algo ya muy visto como una propuesta innovadora y llena de potencial que te hace preguntarte : Hedi , amigo¿dónde has estado todo este tiempo? Yo , y creo que hablo por todos ,teníamos antes a la línea de accesorios de Yves Saint Laurent como auténticos objetos de culto, ¿qué ha sido de sus sandalias "Tribute", de bolsos como el "Muse" o carteras como "Belle de Jour? Todo eso ha sido sustituido por los complementos y accesorios más sencillos que te puedas imaginar , aun que no quita que te puedas encontrar con alguna sandalia o zapato espectacular o un vestido para enamorarse; hablo un poco en términos generales , y por lo tanto ,en  general la moda de Hedi Slimane para Yves Saint Laurent no me dice nada:

The Office Guide

If a life full of meetings, commitments and working long hours, in short, a life dedicated to work, do not give something of sparkle and joy outfit causing sensation, the result can be unfortunate. I firmly believe in that theory tells us that we act as we feel, and one of those factors that both influence our mood is what we wear, fashion may be one of the best therapies, you know what they say: "if you feel beautiful, you act as such "so the way in which we operate in the work environment is directly linked to how you feel at that moment, do not you ever happened when you´re wearing something for first time (shoes, blouse, dresses. ..) have many more like going to school or work by simply wearing it?

Si a una vida llena de reuniones , compromisos y largas jornadas laborables, en resumen , una vida dedicada al trabajo , no le damos algo de chispa y alegría con un outfit que cause sensación , el resultado puede ser lamentable. Creo firmemente en esa teoría que nos dice que actuamos según nos sintamos , y uno de esos factores que tanto influye en nuestro estado de ánimo es lo que llevamos puesto , la moda puede ser la mejor de las terapias , ya sabéis lo que dicen: "si te sientes guapo , actúas como tal"; por lo que el modo con el que nos desenvolvemos en el ambiente laboral está directamente ligado a como te sientes en ese momento, ¿no os ha pasado nunca que cuando estrenáis algo (zapatos , blusa...) tenéis muchas más ganas de ir al colegio o a trabajar por el simple hecho de llevarlo puesto?

The world of business, offices and banks can be really stressful and reached a real turning asphalt jungle so our look should convey security, power and happiness, making completely forget our insecurities. Siempre que descubro a una marca o diseñador que merece la pena me encanta compartirlo con vosotros , y más aún cuando me declaro fan de dicha firma o diseñador.
