Introducing to Jonathan Liang

You know that if the title of one of my posts beginning with "Introducing to .." is usually present you a designer or firm, perhaps not as well known but whose work needs to be praised and shared good occasionally get out of the brands "topic" world renowned always present in any journal article or blog and help new brands or smaller firms with  potential to be released.

Ya sabéis que siempre que el título de uno de mis posts empieza con un "Introducing to.." es para presentaros generalmente a un diseñador o firma , quizás no tan conocido pero cuyo trabajo necesita ser elogiado y compartido, es bueno salirnos de vez en cuando de las marcas "tópico" de renombre mundial , presentes siempre en cualquier artículo de revista o blog y ayudar a nuevas marcas o firmas más pequeñas con potencial a darse a conocer.

"Contemporary Romanticism" is the term that christening the style of  the  young signature Jonathan Liang, it was less than expected considering that according to its designer, Jonathan himself, finds much of his inspiration for his collections at the famous stories written by Shakespeare. At his young age, Liang can claim to be a prodigy designer, all the creativity and art reflected in his designs have done nothing but open doors, making it look forced to say goodbye to Fashion Week in Malaysia to climb on the influential and contemporary fashion showcase worldwide London Fashion Week.

"Romanticismo contemporáneo" es el término con el que bautizo el estilo de la joven firma Jonathan Liang, no era menos de esperar teniendo en cuenta que según su diseñador, el propio Jonathan, encuentra gran parte de su inspiración para sus colecciones en los famosos relatos de Shakespeare.  A su temprana edad , Liang puede presumir de ser un diseñador prodigio , toda la creatividad y arte plasmada en sus diseños no han hecho otra cosa que abrirle puertas, haciendo que se vea obligado a despedirse de la Semana de la moda de Malasia para subirse sobre la influyente y escaparate de moda contemporánea a nivel mundial , Semana de la moda de Londres.

Jonathan Liang is a clear example of an innovative designer, able to create new cuts, shapes and combinations, making progress or evolve a current, as well may be the romance as in this case, in modern and contemporary stage without resorting to futuristic designs and bizarre, that sin of ambitious.

Jonathan Liang es un claro ejemplo de diseñador innovador , capaz de crear nuevos cortes , formas y combinaciones, haciendo avanzar o evolucionar una corriente , como bien pueda ser el romanticismo como en este caso, a su etapa más moderna y contemporánea sin recurrir a diseños futuristas y estrambóticos , que pequen de ambiciosos.

Sensual, feminine, minimalist air, so is "Elixirs", his collection designed for spring-summer 2013, with which bets on relaxed silhouettes, delicate and gauzy, pastel tones and raw, trasnparencias subtle, floral prints and details, mix of textures and materials, asymmetrical cuts and glamorous ruffles. Yes, I have read my mind, everything points to a collection "must have".

Sensual , femenina , con aires minimalistas; así es "Elixirs" , su colección diseñada para esta primavera-verano 2013 , con la que apuesta por las siluetas relajadas , delicadas y vaporosas , tonos crudos y pastel , sutiles trasnparencias, prints y detalles florales, mix de texturas y materiales, cortes asimétricos y glamurosos volantes. Sí , me habéis leído la mente , todo indica a una colección "must have".

I'm already a fan of Liang, I only need to print his photo on a t-shirt, I can say little wish him luck in his rise to fame, talent is, industry is increasingly aware of him, I guess, or at least I hope we soon see the name of Jonathan Liang constantly in top fashion publications.

Yo ya soy fan de Liang , solo me falta imprimir su foto en una camiseta, poco más puedo decir que desearle suerte en su ascenso a la fama , talento tiene , la industria cada vez está más pendiente de él, supongo o al menos espero que no tardemos en ver el nombre de Jonathan Liang constantemente en las mejores publicaciones de moda.

Interview with María Escoté (April 2013)

Es fin de mes , y al igual que mi padre , como buen autónomo que es , me encuentro al borde una taquicardia, ahora es cuando me arrepiento de no haber sido lo suficiente previsor para no tener que andar ahora con el agua al cuello.

Close in April with an interview like this is frankly sensational, when from the office of María Escoté made me know that the designer had agreed to be our interviewee of the month, I was thrilled, to deceive, had long wanted to propose this small project.

Cerrar Abril con una entrevista como esta es francamente , sensacional , cuando desde el despacho de María Escoté me hicieron saber que la diseñadora había aceptado ser nuestra entrevistada del mes , me emocioné , para que engañarnos , hacía ya tiempo que tenía ganas de proponerla este pequeño proyecto.

Born in Barcelona, María Escoté is currently one of the youngest and most promising turn Spanish fashion, it starts to expand their influence by the other fashion capitals around the world. Who have studied both in Spain and abroad, since 2007 presents its collections at the Fashion Week in Madrid, collections need not be shown on a high, since the simple charm of the garments already love.

Nacida en Barcelona, María Escoté es actualmente una de las más jóvenes y a su vez mayores promesas de la moda española, que empieza a expandir su influencia por el resto de capitales de la moda alrededor del mundo. Con estudios cursados tanto en España como en el extranjero , desde 2007 presenta sus colecciones en la Semana de la Moda de Madrid , colecciones que no es necesario que sean mostradas por todo lo alto , ya que el simple encanto de las prendas ya de por sí sólo enamora.

1.After finishing your courses of "Fashion Drawing" in London, why did you decide to come back and settle in Spain?

1.Tras finalizar tus cursos de “Fashion Drawing” en Londres, ¿por qué decidiste volver    y establecerte en España?

From the beginning I knew that if creating my own fashion brand it would be in Spain would never had intentions to stay out.

Desde un principio sabía que si creaba mi propia firma de moda sería en España nunca tuve intenciones de quedarme fuera.

2.What are your inspiration sources?

2.¿Cuáles son tus fuentes de inspiración?

The truth is that any input and articulate can inspire me. Designers like Gaultier, Scaparelli, Westwood and Scott are definitely a reference for me and often one finds a nod to the 80s and 70s in my collections ..

La verdad es que a la hora de plantearme una colección cualquier input me puede servir de inspiración. Diseñadores como Gaultier, Scaparelli, Westwood o Scott son sin duda un referente para mi y a menudo uno encuentra guiños a los años 80 y 70 en mis colecciones..

3.Whom do you like to dress?

A sexy , strong and independent woman.

4.What does differentiate Spanish fashion from the rest?

The lack of support from the institutions.

5.How would you describe your signature style?

5.¿Cómo definirías el estilo de tu firma?

It's a very bold brand. But at the same time elegant. One thing is what we see on the catwalk, which is pure spectacle. But later in the day to day individual parts are combined with basic or black smooth. Giving strength to look.

I like to take short impossible and my team and I have great arguments in this regard when it comes to collections. I like women to feel sexy and beautiful with my designs. That makes them feel unwanted.

Es una marca muy atrevida. Pero a la vez elegante. Una cosa es lo que vemos en la pasarela que es espectáculo puro. Pero después en el día a día las piezas sueltas son muy combinables con básicos o lisos negros. Dándole fuerza a un look.

A mi me gusta llevar cortos imposibles y mi equipo y yo tenemos grandes argumentos en ese aspecto cuando se trata de las colecciones.  Me gusta que las mujeres se sientan sexys y guapas con mis diseños. Que las haga sentir deseadas.

Without a doubt.

I would love to work for a movie. Nobody in particular. I like the idea of ​​helping to tell a story with my designs.

I was the girl who wanted a new profession each week. But in a way, for the family, and was destined, at least try, to devote to fashion.

My mother is restoring tissue and since small wire was wrapped patterns and sewing machines.

13.What obstacles have you found the time to create your own signature?

13.¿Qué obstáculos te has encontrado a la hora de crear tu propia firma?

There are thousand of obstacles, both when creating a signature but rather in creating a company and try to maintain it. If that is important in the fashion world keeping the identity of a brand, to stick to it for your customers to identify with it and recognize it.

Son miles los obstáculos, no tanto a la hora de crear una firma sino más bien a la hora de crear una empresa y tratar de mantenerla. Si que es importante en el mundo de la moda el mantener la identidad de una marca, ser fiel a ella para que tus clientes se identifiquen con ella y la reconozcan.

14.Why instead of seeking a pseudonym, did you trust your name to start your own brand?

14.¿Por qué en lugar de buscar un seudónimo , confiaste en tu nombre para fundar tu propia marca?

Because I like mi name.

It is important to remember that not because "it´s trend" we look good.

Breaking Barriers

Hello everyone! I have personal purpose that you know me a little better and to approach within what fits more to you, what am I going to do? My point is, as in many other publications, to combiene articles and reports as I've done up to date, with a post in which I appear showing you my personal style. Not the first time I do it, in the archives of The Queens Also Fart can find a couple of counted posts in which I appear, my camera attitude has always been an obstacle, an obstacle that it was time that I propose to overcome, so I guess this blog post formalize my apparitions in it, I aspire to be a weekly basis.
¡Hola a todos! Tengo como propósito personal que me conozcáis un poco más y mejor para poder acercarme dentro de lo que cabe más a vosotros , ¿que cómo lo  voy a hacer? , mi idea es al igual que en otras muchas publicaciones , combinar artículos y reportajes como vengo haciendo hasta a fecha , con post en los que aparezca yo mostrándoos mi estilo personal. No sería la primera vez que lo hago , en los archivos de The Queens also Fart podéis encontrar un par de posts contados en los que aparezco; mi actitud ante la cámara siempre ha sido un obstáculo , obstáculo que ya era hora que me propusiese superar , así que supongo que con esta entrada en el blog formalice mis apariciones en él , que aspiro a que sean de forma semanal.

Lately the weather of my small hometown, Palencia, suffers imbalance, had already said goodbye to my jackets, knit sweaters and scarves when penalties without warning, I went from outline my whitish legs throught my shorts, going back rummaging through the closet until gloves and earmuffs. My style-look-outfit, let's call it "X", I venture to say that is a little transition period, something simple and comfortable with a touch of boldness that protects but does not stop shelter at all.
Últimamente el clima de mi pequeña ciudad natal , Palencia , sufre cierto desequilibrio , ya había dicho adiós a mis chaquetones , jerseys de punto y bufandas cuando a penas sin previo aviso , pasé de contonear gracias a los pantalones cortos mis blanquecinas piernas a tener que volver a rebuscar en el armario hasta guantes y orejeras. Mi conjunto-look-outfit, llamémoslo "X" , me arriesgaría a decir que es un poco de periodo de transición , para ir a cuerpo cuando lo abrigos están demás y las camisas de menos, en definitiva , algo sencillo y cómodo con pinceladas de atrevimiento que resguarda pero no termina de abrigar del todo.

Changing love for Loewe

"A Loewe for love" is the currency I'll have to use with the Loewe dependent if I do not get away with empty hands of their establishments. The Spanish luxury brand representative par excellence returns to run the show this season from the hand of its creative director, Stuart Vevers, the British designer who ironically is approaching the signature to its original Spanish roots more than ever.
"Un Loewe por amor" es la moneda de cambio que voy a tener que utilizar con los dependientes de Loewe si no quiero salirme con las manos vacías de sus establecimientos. La marca representante del lujo español por excelencia vuelve a llevar la voz cantante esta temporada de la mano de su director creativo , Stuart Vevers; el diseñador británico que irónicamente está acercando a la firma a sus raíces españolas originales más que nunca.

No need to be not a good thinker or observer to realize that companies and fashion designers are having real headaches in order to seduce a younger and spontaneous audience , they are creating lines, collections and second marks exclusive for us, definitely the youth is trend.
No es necesario ser ni un buen pensador ni observador para darse cuenta de que las firmas y diseñadores de moda están pasando por verdaderos quebraderos de cabeza con el fin de seducir a un público más joven y espontáneo , se están creando líneas , colecciones y segundas marcas exclusivas para nosotros , definitivamente la juventud está de moda.

The last and tbrilliant proposal by Vevers and Loewe  is dubbed as "Tales of Spain" , and it is a capsule collection for spring-summer 2013, which we can´t do with anything until the month of May, from rescuing some of the most iconic prints lost in the signature files, prints that have shaped the most exquisite silk scarves along the path of Loewe, and now are present in addition to in that format, on all kinds of apparel and accessories, and I mean all kinds with bags, wallets, purses, bracelets, belts .... even fake nails!
La última y no cabe duda que brillante propuesta de Loewe y Vevers está apodada como "Tales of Spain" (Cuentos de España), y se trata de una colección cápsula para esta primavera-verano 2013 , de la que no nos podremos hacer con nada hasta el mes de Mayo, basada en rescatar algunos de los estampados más emblemáticos perdidos por los los archivos de la firma , estampados que han protagonizado los pañuelos de seda más exquisitos a lo largo de la trayectoria de Loewe , y que ahora vienen presentes además de en dicho formato , sobre de todo tipo de complementos y accesorios , y con todo tipo me refiero a bolsos , carteras , monederos , brazaletes , cinturones ....¡incluso uñas postizas!

But the real purpose of "Tales of Spain", is to bring all the culture, heritage, art and tradition of Loewe to the youth through a collection full of key pieces and must haves that blend the aesthetics of Spanish character of the firm with a more urban-current. Moreover, the idea of the collection is to bring both taste and artistic  as economically the youth to Loewe, so that all collection rates are relatively much more affordable than usual at Loewe.
Pero el verdadero propósito de "Tales of Spain" , es acercar toda la cultura , herencia , arte y tradición de Loewe a la juventud por medio de una colección repleta de piezas clave o must haves, que fusionan la estética de carácter español de la firma con un estilo más urbanita y actual.  Además, la idea de la colección es acercar tanto de forma gustativa y artística como económicamente a Loewe con los jóvenes , por lo que todos los precios de la colección son relativamente mucho más asequibles de lo habitual en Loewe.

I'm obsessed with the color combinations and designs of the prints, whether they have floral patterns as those butterflies and other drawings are worthy of applause. Roughly collection has conquered me, is what has to be so baroque, so I, I feel a fondness for large portfolios of hand and the sensational and casual gray sweatshirt, but I stress that I do not want disparage to other articles line.
Estoy obsesionado con las combinaciones de colores y los diseños de los estampados , tanto los que tienen motivos florales como los que tienen mariposas y otros dibujos son dignos de ovación. A grandes rasgos la colección me ha conquistado , es lo que tiene que sea tan barroca , tan yo ;siento una especial predilección por las carteras grandes de mano y ese sensacional y desenfadado sweatshirt gris , pero recalco que no quiero hacer feo al resto de artículos de la línea.

The campaign, starring by  the Spanish topmodel Alba Galocha is very simple, but I love it, in just a few frames of reference through the folk combs or expressions like "ole" to the Spanish culture.
La campaña , protagonizada por la top española Alba Galocha es muy sencilla , pero me encanta , en apenas unos fotogramas hacen referencia por medio de las folclóricas peinetas o expresiones como "olé" a la cultura española.

A little nuance, but the idea of Loewe to bring its "heritage" to the wild youth leaves me falling in love, I think that this supposed "affordability" is sometimes disappointing reality, observing the prices of the items, that you can see already in the Loewe website, I conclude that even though it is quite true that compared to the usual prices of the company, these are lower, still maintained a fairly distant orbit, it is obvious that we are talking about Loewe, recognized brand for its genuine quality, so we can not hope to sell us items "lowcost" of department store, but there is a middle ground, a middle ground which also I have to say that a few of the designs do fulfill. Just say that I hope the Lord will hear my prayers and olé!
Un pequeño matiz , aunque la idea de Loewe de acercar su "heritage" a la alocada juventud me enamora , creo que esa supuesta "accesibilidad económica" no termina de ser una realidad ; observando los precios de los artículos , que podéis consultar ya en la web de Loewe, llego a la conclusión de que a pesar de que es totalmente cierto que comparado con los precios habituales de la compañía , estos son  más bajos, siguen manteniéndose en una órbita bastante lejana ; es obvio que estamos hablando de Loewe , marca reconocida por su genuina calidad , por lo que no podemos aspirar a que nos vendan artículos "lowcost" de grandes almacenes , pero sí hay un término medio , término que también tengo que decir que unos cuantos de los diseños sí que cumplen. Sólo decir que espero que el Señor escuche mis plegarias y ¡olé!

The Art of Hat

I do not know if  give you good morning, afternoon or evening, because the fact that The Queens Also Fart is read on every continent is already a reality, it is gratifying to know that never stop growing, that our followers are increasing and we can assume that our increasingly post are of higher quality, just say thank you!
No sé si daros los buenos días , tardes o noches , por que el hecho de que The Quees also Fart es leído en los cinco continentes es ya toda una realidad , es gratificante saber que no paramos de crecer , que nuestros seguidores van en aumento y que podemos presumir que nuestros post cada vez son de mayor calidad , ¡que decir a parte de gracias!

Last week from 2 to 7 April, the cosmopolitan and cultural attractions worldwide, Barcelona, ​​was in charge of hosting an event dedicated exclusively to a revolutionary accessory in the fashion world, the "Hat Week ", (it was about time that they remembered it!), an event that I was unfortunately unable to attend, but thanks to my friend Carolina from Melgar PR, I was aware of everything that happened.
La pasada semana del 2 al 7 de Abril , la cosmopolita y de interés cultural a escala mundial , ciudad de Barcelona , fue la la encargada de acoger un evento dedicado exclusivamente a un accesorio revolucionario dentro del mundo de la moda , la "Semana del Sombrero" , (¡ya era hora de que se acordaran de él!), evento al que desgraciadamente me resultó imposible asistir , pero que gracias a mi amiga Carolina de Melgar PR, estuve al tanto de todo cuanto sucedió.

If there is something exciting in this practical accessory is its history and evolution, I mean, the hat comes by way of invention rather than fashion item, covering the need of working classes, especially those dedicated to the field, to protect own climate phenomena such as the sun and rain, which quickly ends up in a whole social position indicator, letting us know with its materials, motifs and design the occupancy or status of its wearer, so that the hat of an illustrious or nobleman would not be anywhere near similar to a humble man at street. Although we lost the tradition or custom hat today, beyond a useful tool, it is an indisputable fashion accessory.
Si hay algo emocionante dentro de este práctico complemento es su historia y evolución , me explico, el sombrero nace a modo de invento más que como artículo de moda , cubriendo la necesidad que tenían las clases trabajadoras , especialmente las dedicadas al campo , para protegerse de los fenómenos propios del clima como lo son el sol y la lluvia, que rápidamente termina convirtiéndose en todo un indicador de posición social , haciéndonos saber mediante sus materiales , adornos y diseño el estatus u ocupación de su portador , de tal manera que el sombrero de un personaje ilustre o noble no sería ni de cerca similar al de un humilde hombre de a pie de calle. A pesar de que hemos perdido la tradición o costumbre , en la actualidad el sombrero, más allá de una útil herramienta, es un indiscutible accesorio de moda.

It's amazing how I detour, back to the week of the Hat, was the important Spanish tissue house , present in almost worldwide, Gratacós, responsible for organizing the event that approached the art and culture of the hat with the public, thanks to all activities fully open to everyone that took place in its shop in the Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona. Do not miss anything during the tribute to this unique accessory, all had the opportunity to enjoy activities ranging from workshops to teach us to combine headdresses and hats to another workshop where they showed us how to create our own mini headdress. Another of the most notable were the showcase event that created living space Gratacós to show firsthand the collection of the headgear signature"Secretos de Alcoba", in order to let us know its philosophy as a specialized brand in headdresses, which starts to teach in a way as the headdress is a supplement that can be seamlessly use both daily and for special occasions.
Es alucinante como me desvío , volviendo a la Semana del Sombreo; fue la importante casa española de tejidos , presente en casi todo el mundo, Gratacós , el responsable de organizar dicho evento que acercaba el arte y cultura del sombrero con el público,  gracias a todas las actividades completamente abiertas para todo el mundo que tuvieron lugar en su tienda en el Paseo de Gracia en Barcelona. No faltó de nada durante el homenaje a este peculiar accesorio , todos tuvimos la oportunidad de disfrutar de actividades que iban desde talleres para enseñarnos a combinar tocados y sombreros  hasta otro taller donde nos mostraban como crear nuestro propio minitocado. Otra de las actividades más destacables del evento fueron los escaparate vivientes que crearon en el espacio de Gratacós para mostrar de primera mano la colección de mini tocados de la firma "Secretos de Alcoba" , con el fin de hacernos conocer su filosofía como marca especializada en tocados , que parte de enseñarnos en cierto modo como el tocado es un complemento que puede ser perfectamente de uso tanto diario , como para ocasiones más especiales.

Then I  would like to show you the amazing world of  Secretos de Alcoba, a universe full of all kinds of accessories and headgear, mostly exceptional, and of course, mini headdresses, which come as just discussed, with the firm intention to conquer us to do of them something everyday use.
